structured blazer

Top: Zara, Blazer: Zara, Pants: Zara: Heels: Nasty Gal, Bag: Coach

Just a few more weeks till we're New Yorkers! In the mean time I've been so busy with packing and all the other things related to moving.  I always forget how much work goes into moving, especially across the country.  In between packing and getting things ready for the move I found some time to take a trip to Zara.  I considered myself to have a very successful shopping trip.  I got some key pieces for my wardrobe.  I picked up three pairs of cropped trousers, two white tops, nude strappy heels and this fabulous blazer.

Working in the corporate world you can get caught up in simple and boring clothes.  I bought these pink pants to brighten up my work wardrobe.  It will go great with any solid color, oxfords and looks great with a blazer.  The blazer is one of my favorite.  Since I'm petitie I always have trouble finding blazer that are not too long in the arms.  This one fits me perfectly and I like the structure of the shoulders. Next time I wear the blazer I'm going to put my hair up.  There seems to be a lot going on with I have my hair down and a structured blazer on.

I'll do my best to post the next few weeks.  Traveling to Colorado, Houston and Kansas City before our move to NY.

apartment hunting in NY

Top: Zara (similar here), Skort: Zara, Heels: Charlotte Russe (similar here & here), Bag: Michael Kors, Sunnies: Dolce & Gabbana
This weekend we visited New York to find an apartment! We couldn't be more excited. Since last year we've been anticipating moving, but the stars didn't always align. The time has finally come and we have a move date of July 1st. The past few months we've been working with a great broker and on the first apartment viewing, we fell in love! We went on to see several other places, but nothing compared.  At the end of the day, after a few conversations, we made the decision to sign on the first place. The view is a 22 story, 365 degree view of the city. Can't wait to show pictures!

The rest of the weekend we spent roaming around the city, finding new places to eat and hanging out in Central Park.  I think we could become regulars there.  Although there's a ton of people coming and going, when you sit in the park, under the trees all the noise seems to drown out. Love watching the doggies play in the park and the cute family play with their little kiddos.

The famous Zara skirt was purchased last week and thought it would be a great skirt to take on a trip.  Very versatile.  It's already one of my favorites! Wow, I've missed skorts.

floral peplum

Top: asos, Pants: Gap, Heels: Nasty Gal, Clutch: boutique

The past few weeks I've done a little research in "hair dos". I've seen ever hair style you can imagine.  With my hair and face shape, I couldn't find anything that was a good alternative to the large wavy hair and then yesterday I saw a picture of Miranda Kerr with her wavy hair sweep to the side.  It looked amazing on her.  I tried it out today and it looked great! Next time I'll pin it with bobby pins.

orange pants by olivia j.

Last week I met Matt for lunch downtown San Francisco.  On our lunch date I wore my new orange pants.  These pants have been in the making for a few weeks.  I'd work on them, put them away, work on them, get frustrated, put them away and finally I finished them! They are a little big, as you can see.  I'm not a big fan of the outfit, but I think overall the pants turned out great.  What do you think about orange pants? Rosie rocked them! I'm working on that. I didn't want to look like Halloween, so I didn't wear black...oh yes, nor did I want to look like an SF Giant's fan.  As I rode the bus downtown, everyone had black and orange on.  They probably thought I was the biggest fan. Little do they know ;)

My next project is navy pants with white piping down the side! Wish me luck.  J. Crew is my inspiration.
