All Business :: Asymmetrical Dress & Valentino Heels

Happy Monday everyone! I'm typically not one to wake up early, but last night I went to bed early and got up early this morning to go to the gym. The next few weeks I'm going to get myself motivated to finish planning our wedding. One of my best friends, Nina, is coming in town this weekend to help me wedding plan and explore New York City.

Yesterday Matt and I stopped by Chelsea Market and I came across and awesome sample sale. I found two great dresses, each for $59 and one plaid coat for $129. I was very pleased with my purchases. I've been looking for some good work dresses. The asymmetrical dress is great for the office. It still looks professional and it also gives your body shape. The sleeves on this dress are the perfect length. I'd feel comfortable wearing this to the office without a blazer. Most women's dresses are sleeveless, so we typically need to throw on a blazer or cardigan.  The slightly longer sleeve prevents you from having to layer at the office. As it gets colder, I'll wear this with textured tights and black heels.

Blue Stripes :: Zara Midi & Cinnabar

Hi everyone! So excited to post today's outfit. Yesterday Matt and I went to the Garment District and then headed to the Chelsea area to explore. The Garment District is great place for someone who loves crafts and sewing. There was inspiration all over the place! Our first stop was Bead World and got so many great ideas for statement necklaces and bracelets.  This winter when I'm stuck inside, I'll be spending a lot of time with my list of DIY projects.

After the Garment Districts we headed to Chelsea Pier. There was so much going on in the area.  We stumbled up Chelsea Market and had a great time exploring. I also found a great sample sale. I spent 10 minutes in the sample sale and picked up two work dresses and a plaid coat. I've learned to be an efficient shopper when I'm with Matt.  After the Market we went to the High Line. The High Line Park is a 1-mile park built on a former elevated New York Central Railroad. It's such a beautiful green getaway in the middle of Manhattan.

In the mist of all of the exploring, we found a pier door that matches with my Zara midi. I loved wearing my Coach boots with the Zara skirt. The graphic tee made the outfit casual and perfect for strolling around New York City.

September Heels

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Today I'm looking back on my September heels. With fall and winter right around the corner, the sandals are slowly started to be packed away and boots are taking over my closet. This morning I got my first pair over-the-knee boots  in the mail from H&M. I'm looking forward to the change in the weather and my wardrobe.

This will be my first winter in New York, so I'm trying to prepare myself for the cold. I got used to the 70 degree weather in San Francisco, so you'll probably see me bundled up from Nov-March.

This afternoon I'm going to stop by the garment district. I'm trying to get inspired to start sewing again. My sewing machine is starting to get dusty and that's never a good sign. I'd like to pick up a few fall fabrics to make midi skirts. Houndstooth and plaid print are really popular right now, so I'll start there. I'll be sure to keep you updated.

Thursday Night Football :: Boyfriend Jeans & Faux Leather Peplum

Happy...last day of the week! Yippie! We made it. Put everything behind you and get ready for another beautiful September weekend.

About today's outfit. I wore this to watch watch Thursday Night Football with friends in the city. If I had to wear one outfit for "the rest of my life" (I know we've all asked this question before), this would be the outfit. Let's start with the top, cotton and faux leather at it's best! The most comfy shirt I own. Then my Current Elliott Boyfriend jeans that I got on sale for $99. These jeans area heaven-sent! So comfy. I could spend 5 days in these jeans and they are so comfortable. The jeans are soft and worn in! Last, but not least are the Boutique 9 heels. These open toe booties are one of my favorite heels in my collection. I've only worn them a handful of times, but I love the wool, and faux leather on the heel. I've spent some time trying to find the link to the shoe, but I'm unable to find it online. I'll continue to search and update you wit any progress.

10 Coats You'll Love under $150

On of the best things about the fall and winter is that you can have multiple jackets and coats as accessories (my friend Nina, says it best!). So it's ok to splurge on a few nice coats for the season. If you have any other recommendations, please ask in the comment section. There are so many great coats out there!

Falling for Midis :: Zara Skirt & Target Sunnies

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is adjusting to the Fall weather. Late last week I had to come to terms with the colder weather and I packed up all my summer clothes. A few didn't make it into the box, so I'll need to do another sweep. Since this will be my first fall/winter in New York, I'm preparing myself for cold morning! I'm really excited for the gloves and hats! However, talk to me in January and ask me if I'm enjoying the weather :)

Today's outfit is such an easy outfit for the office. It's sophisticated and sleek. Since the midi is back and in full effect, I've taken advantage of the trend and stocked up on several of the skirts. I've been wearing pencil skirt for years, I'm ready to wear a new type of skirt to work. I'm limited to on what I can wear to the office due to the lengths of dresses and skirts, so I'm really pleased with this type of skirt for the office. I think today's outfit is very professional and I compare it to a man in gray slacks and blue oxford shirt.

One last thing...I picked up these sunnies from Target for $12.99!!! Earlier in the day I purchased Michael Kors sunnies for $120, then I made my way to Target and got 3 pairs of sunnies and a cute hat and spent under $75! Needless to say, I took back the MK sunnies. Very happy with my purchases at Target!

Leopard Girl :: Zara Pants & Valentino Heels

Hi everyone! Hope you had a good weekend. It was beautiful in NYC. The weather channel called for a slight chance of rain, it turned out to be clear skies and beautiful! Looking forward to this week. This evening I'm hosting a NYC blogger event at my apartment. The theme is Wine, Cheese & Fashion Bloggers! I'll post pictures this week. There are a few DIY, as well.

Today's outfit is one of my favorite to wear to the office. I've worn this a few times to work and my boss always says the same thing, "Wow, those are pink pants."On the other hand, the ladies at the office love the bright color on a Friday. The leopard top is one of my favorite. I think I'm going to buy a few more leopard tops for the season.
