In the past few weeks, I've been working with Whitney from Heart & Arrow Design on a few changes to Corporate Catwalk. In the redesign, I wanted to keep the blog layout simple and clean. The 'Corporate Catwalk' logo got refreshed and at the bottom of the site a few categories have been added. If you browse through the site you'll probably notice a few other tweaks, but for the most part the blog has remained the same. I hope you enjoy the new look!
As part of the redesign, I wanted to share something special with my readers. I've teamed up with Vera Bradley to giveaway this quilted leather backpack.

The J.Crew regent blazer is one of my staples in my closet. If you were to go through my archives, you’d see plenty of outfits of me wearing this blazer. When I travel, I throw on this blazer and a knit scarf. When I don’t know what to wear to work, I wear this blazer with a black cami and a statement necklace. For my busy lifestyle, I need pieces in my closet that I can grab off the hanger and be out the door. What I’ve found with this neutral blazer is that it can be worn with almost anything in my closet. In today’s post, I wanted to show the versatility of this blazer. It can be worn with a button down and skinny jeans, but it can also be worn with a bright floral dress.
Welcome back! Today's post is a little different from my Monday blog series. Instead of sharing a day and a night look, I'm sharing two ways to wear a bright structured dress to the workplace.
In outfit number one, I'm layering with my favorite Ann Taylor shirt. This stripes are a great way to add texture to a solid color dress. You can add dimension by flipping up the collar and sleeves. The camel coat and fedora don't take away from bold dress, instead adding a more professional appeal to the outfit.
As for outfit number two, it's a little more traditional. Adding black pieces for a more subtle look. By wearing a red lipstick it adds a variety of color, so you don't feel like you're dressing up for Halloween.
Living in NYC and not having a lot of space in my closet, I'm a big believer in selling things I don't wear. The reason I bring this up today, is because I've had a lot of friends ask how should they get rid of things in their closet. My answer is always, Poshmark! For those not familiar with Poshmark, it's a mobile app that enables you to buy and sell gently used items to the Poshmark community. In the past few years, I've been able to sell hundreds of items on Poshmark. As you can imagine, that eventually adds up. I've sold everything from a Louis Vuitton bag to a Banana Republic sweater.
Here's how it work. Download the Poshmark app. Use code HPADM for a $5 credit. Take photos of the item with your iPhone or Android camera, which is all done in the app (one tip, I highly recommend taking quality photos). Also share a variety of photos. This gives potential buyers the ability to have a better understand what they're purchasing. Be as detailed as possible when describing the item. Name your price. I'd recommend researching the current market value and price accordingly. Then post to your closet! Once someone buys your item, a shipping label will be sent to your email. Pack up the item, attach the shipping label and drop off at the post office. Once the item has been received by the buyer, the funds will deposit into your Poshmark account. The funds can either be used to buy more items on Pohsmark or you can direct deposit the funds into your checking account.
Happy poshing! A few of my readers have discovered my closet, for others here's a direct link to my Poshmark closet.

Hope everyone had a good week at work and you’re starting to make plans for the weekend! This weekend, Batman and I are heading to Kansas City to spend time with family and friends. After being in San Francisco for a week, I couldn’t imagine another weekend without him.
While preparing for my trip back home, I needed to find a travel bag for my growing pup. For those with doggies and are on the lookout for a airline approved carrier, I found this wonderful carrier from Wagwear. It’s a local NYC boutique. Anyways, we bought this carrier for Batman. Since he’s already outgrown his first carrier, we decided to invest in a higher end bag. It will be the only carrier we’ll need for several years.
Appreciate everyone’s feedback on Monday’s series, one piece worn two ways. I have a few fun ideas for upcoming posts.
