Hope everyone had a great weekend! We're in Paris for a few more days and then we're training to Amsterdam to ring in the New Year. The trip has been spectacular! We've seen some beautiful scenery and enjoy some delicious meals. It's been good to reflect on our year together in 2014 and plan for 2015. As much fun as we're having, we're both missing our little baby, Batman. Can't wait to get back to NYC and spend time with our newest family member. Dogs are truly a blessing.

This year, I promised myself I’d incorporate more colors into my winter wardrobe. When I spotted this orange coat at Zara, I knew this was a great way to add a splash of color to nuetral and black outfits. This wool red coat is another option, I love the high collar. 

I'm still trying to figure out how to wear my favorite skirts and dresses to the office when it’s freezing outside. My over the knee boots are proving to be a great option to wear more skirts to the office in the winter. These nude suede boots might be a good investment. 

Layering is the best way to stay warm at the office. Add a button down shirt to your outfits. Get creative. Check out the way I layered here. Not wanting to wear layers to the office, a blanket scarf will keep your warm. There are so many way to wear this scarf at the office. Check out this tutorial from Wendy's Lookbook. What to Wear to Work | White Pleated Skirt + Black Top

In an effort to prove to myself that I don't need to shop to look "fashionable", I'm putting together some of my favorite pieces to create new looks. The black crop top is from Express and I love the way it looked with my high-waisted shorts in THIS outfit. One of my favorite pieces is my white pleated skirt from Zara and I previous wore with a cardigan in THIS outfit. Two great pieces that will go with so many other looks! 

Quick story about today's outfit....

Originally, I wanted to wear my leopard print Manolo Blahnik heels with this outfit, BUT I lost them in a NYC taxi on the way to my photo session with Lydia. Like usual I was multitasking; putting on lipstick, texting and trying to tell the cab driver where to drop me off. It was a recipe for disaster. As Lydia and I setup to take photos, I realized my shoes were missing. 

Thank goodness I had the receipt from my cab ride. I called several times, but I was never able to reach the cab driver. The cab company said my shoes were not turn in at the end of the day. I moped around the house for a few hours. My husband felt sorry for me for a few minutes, then he put things into perspective by telling me I could have lost my wallet or better yet, my kid (he likes to give me worst case scenarios to make me realize that "it could be worse").  That little incident is what led me to my shopping challenge. As I looked at my other shoes in my closet, I thought to myself, "be thankful for what you have, it's only a pair of shoes." 

I will admit that I keeping an eye on eBay, just in case they magically show up...

Good morning! It's a foggy day in NYC. I think we're reverted back to fall weather, unbelievable. Even with all the bad weather, it's been an exciting week. On Monday I tried on my wedding dress, I didn't take any good photos or else I would have shared on Instagram. My next fitting is in a few weeks and I won't make the same mistake twice, I'll be sure to bring along a friend and take some photos. 

This week is also the start of our end of fiscal year at work, so I've been at the office a little more than usual. I've been trying to get to the gym every day, drink lots of water and eat healthy to help minimize the stress. I'm still working on getting a full night's sleep when I have a million things going through my mind (work + wedding). If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know! 

Last night Fallon of Sage + Sparkle invited me to a Pinnacle Cocktail Event. Mixologist Brian Van Flandern, writer of Vintage Cocktail, demonstrated how to properly make a cocktail. We got to make several different drinks with Pinnacle flavored vodkas. Oh yes! How can I forget, they also had delicious dessert tables covered with macarons, cinnamon rolls, donut holes, cupcakes...the list goes on! 

As for today's outfit, another outfit in my favorite pleated mini skirt. Here's another look at the blush pleated mid skirt + white shirt.

Good morning! Hope you had a good weekend. Today is a big day, I have my first dress fitting for my wedding dress. I'm both excited and nervous. It's strange to think it's been almost five months since I last saw the dress. Once every two weeks I find a pictures and fall in love with the dress all over again. I will admit that I've seen other dresses since and questioned my decision. Thank goodness for my best friend who reassures me I made the right decision with the dress. If you follow me on Instagram I'll be sure to post a photo of the dress (not the entire dress :) ).
