Coffee Break :: Floral Peplum & Striped Skirt

Happy Labor Day everyone! I hope most of you have today off and are enjoy the time away from work.  I'm a big believer in "breaks" from work.  If it weren't for the weekend to slow me down, I think I could work seven days of the week.  I owe this to being a slight perfectionist and a multitasker, ladies I know several of you can agree! On the weekends I  shut down my "work brain" and focus on my fiance and my blog. It's a good time to regroup and focus for the next week.

Today's outfit is two of my favorite pieces in my closet.  I love this floral top, I could wear it everyday.  The same for the skirt. The material is so pretty and it fits me perfectly around the waist. It poufs out just enough to be a girly striped skirt.

Flowers & Ponytails:: Floral Pants & Coach Bag

Hi everyone! Hope you had a good weekend! I spent the weekend wedding planning and enjoying some of my favorite thai takeout in New York! It was a beautiful weekend in New York, I heard it was the best weekend of the year. I think from here on out, we'll start seeing darker colors and longer sleeves.

With fall right around the corner, I've been prioritizing my clothing.  What can still be worn in Fall/Winter and what has to be worn ASAP.  Lately I've been really good about getting rid of things. If I haven't worn it all summer, there's probably a reason.  These flower pants and white top were worn to my engagement party in St. Louis. The outfit looked cute together, but nothing too fancy. When in doubt, I typically over dress than under dress.  The one good thing about cropped pants is that they typically fit me really well.  So if you're on the shorter side and tired of getting things hemmed. Try on a few pairs of cropped pants/jeans. You'll be surprised how well they fit us tiny people.

Have a good week!

floral peplum

Top: asos, Pants: Gap, Heels: Nasty Gal, Clutch: boutique

The past few weeks I've done a little research in "hair dos". I've seen ever hair style you can imagine.  With my hair and face shape, I couldn't find anything that was a good alternative to the large wavy hair and then yesterday I saw a picture of Miranda Kerr with her wavy hair sweep to the side.  It looked amazing on her.  I tried it out today and it looked great! Next time I'll pin it with bobby pins.

napa valley florals

Dress: Betsy Johnson, Jacket: Ann Taylor, Heels: Zara, Bag: Coach

This weekend we headed up to Napa.  By far, our favorite place to visit in California.  Decided to match the greenery with my Betsy Johnson dress.  The silver metallic shoes seemed to go perfectly with the dress. I've been waiting for the right moment to wear the shoes. Although we all know that metallic looks great with a pair of boyfriend jeans and a tee.

As you can see with my natural lipstick (aka red wine), we had a great time up in Napa.  Hopefully we'll make it up to wine country a few more times before the big move.

treasure island sunset

The 40-foot dancing woman on Treasure Island. Was at last year's Burning Man festival.

Denim top: GAP, Vest: Bar III, Pants: Zara, Scarf: Forever 21, Sunglasses: Chanel

This weekend we took a trip to Treasure Island. It's about a 10 minute drive from San Francisco.  The best time to go to the island is right before sunset.  We had a great time admiring the SF skyline and sipping on our favorite wine from Napa.

Since I was going to Treasure Island, I thought it was appropriate to wear this brown vest. It was as "pirate-esk" I could get for the trip and also stay warm!
