How to Wear Snakeskin to Work

Morning everyone! I'm heading up to Connecticut for the day for a business meeting. Love walking into Grand Central to start my day. For today's blog post I'm wearing one of my favorite prints, snakeskin! I wish I had more pieces in my closet. Snakeskin is a great way to mix up the daily grind of a black, white and grey at the office. A few things I'd recommend when wearing snakeskin to the office, pair it with neutral colors or go for all black. Typically my snakeskin blouse is worn with black trousers and black pumps. A nice pair of snakeskin pumps would also be a great piece to add to your closet. A few years ago I purchased a pair of Rachel Roy nude snakeskin pumps and they were a staple for my daily office outfit.

Here are a few more pieces that you might like to add to your office wardrobe; LOFT blouse, Macy's blouse, Joie blouse, Simply Vera pumps, Coach pumps, Giambattista pumps

DUMBO :: Zara Skirt & Vintage Inspired Top

Last weekend I met with Akil of Clearshadow Photography to shoot a few photos in New York. He recommended that we go to "DUMBO". If you can imagine, I was really confused where DUMBO was located. He explained that DUMBO is also known as "down under the Manhattan Bridge overpass" and was once a haven for starving artists. This link will give you a little more info. However, to see this place for your own eyes is breathtaking. We can probably all agree that New York has hundreds of sights to see and tons of history, I'd consider this place a condensed Manhattan in 25 blocks. Beautiful views of the city, history and art all over! Not to mention an awesome food fair every Sunday called Smorgasburg.

The first thing I realized when we drove across the Brooklyn Bridge is the view of Manhattan. As we drove into the area you being to drive on cobblestone. As you go further into DUMBO there were old apartment buildings that looked like old movie sets (this is where these pictures were taken). After we took a few outfit photos, Akil mentioned there was a mansion a block away. We walked down the cobblestone streets and came upon a large mansion. It resembled something from the Great Gatsby!

We drove around to find a few other places to shoot and saw several buildings with graffiti and artwork. There was also a beautiful park with life-size macaroons (Rebecca Minkoff took an Instagram photo)! I could go on and on with details. If you come to NYC or live nearby and haven't been, make your away across the Brooklyn Bridge and visit DUMBO. You won't be disappointed!

Good evening everyone! Hope everyone is looking forward to a relaxing and fun weekend. This weekend we have engagement photos planned and I have zero idea what I'm going to wear. I'm such a girl! I think I'll stick with classic black or ivory. We're shooting in Central Park. I'm excited to have pictures taken with Matt. It's going to be a fun experience for us both!

Oh yes! Promise to post the pictures afterwards!

Office Outfit :: Zara Sweater & Skirt

Good morning everyone! Look forward to seeing all the cute fall outfits. Here's one of my favorite sweaters with a pencil skirt with ruffles. This sweater I picked up from Zara a few weeks ago and I've already worn it a few times. This fall, be sure to pick up a few sweaters that can be worn with boyfriend jeans, slacks and a standard pencil skirt. It makes for a comfy and warm day at the office!

april flowers bring may colors!

Top: Michael Kors (TJ Maxx), Skirt, TJ Maxx, Shoes: Zara, Bag: Coach, Sunnies: D&G
This week I pulled out all my spring/summer clothes! Several things I forgot I owned.  Living in SF, space is vaulable and my heavy coats were taking up a lot of real estate in my household.  The coats got packed away and pulled out all the bright colors! Yippie!

Today's outfit wasn't pulled from boxes, but I got the skirt and shirt from TJ Maxx.  One of my favorite stores.  You can typically find me there on my lunch break.  I loooove getting a good bargain and I love looking at the new trends for the season.  TJ Maxx does a great job keeping up on trends.  If you have a few extra bucks burning a whole in your pocket, head over to TJ Maxx and pick up a right new skirt for summer!

The black and white trend is really starting to take over my wardrobe.  I wandered into Express a few days ago and came across this awesome skirt! It was perfect for work.  Profession and not too short.  The shirt is probably my favorite.  It's going to look great with a pair of boyfriend jeans, simple heels and a cute belt! Can't wait to wear it again.

green is for money

Life in the corporate world, we have these wonderful things called "Quarters".  We live, breath and die by these dates. Every year is split into four quarters and each quarter comes down to $$$.  I thought it was only appropriate at we come closer to the end of the month, I remind everyone to bring in the money!

This is one of my favorite dresses to wear to the office.  The color is beautiful and eye catching.  Typically I wear it with a belt, but today I felt like I'd keep it simple with the gold accents pieces and animal print heels.

Do you make a color splash in the office, or do you stick with the black and white theme? I'm such a fan of black and white!
